EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE

The Edenhome for Girls Education service aims to provide supplementary education support to the families and children whose education may have been set back because of the medical and emotional strain that the child goes through due to his illness.

The Education service is administered via tuition at the bedside and wards at EdenHome for girls. We also provide weekly tuition classes on Saturdays and weekdays at the Edenhome Family Care Centre. During the school holidays, enrichment programmes are held to boost our beneficiaries’ interest and expand their capabilities.

To ease the financial burden of our families in meeting the child’s educational needs, the Edenhome Academic Support Programme gives out Bursary and three categories of Education Awards during the academic year to help the needy families as well as to recognize the efforts of EdenHome for Girls and youths who have performed well in school.

Edenhome is very proud of its current standings—most of the girls come from extraordinarily disadvantaged backgrounds and speak practically no English when they arrive. To make such rapid progress is a testament to the dedication of both students and their teachers.

How does the education sponsorship program work?

1. Our program targets single parents who have no source of income. We identify potential children through the help of local organizations. Each child is identified and offered the opportunity to participate in our sponsorship program. When you sponsor a child, the parent/guardian is notified by our local staff. Once they are funded, we provide the sponsor with an annual report of student progress, information about the student, and a photo.
2. Once sponsored, our scholarship provides tuition for the student, uniform, books, and school supplies. Children also receive lunch five days a week, along with transportation no matter the distance. The donations are combined with the gifts of other sponsors and donors – rather than just being given directly to your sponsored child – to support programs that help make life better for all eligible children and their families in the communities we serve.

How can I help? Your generosity also lifts entire communities. Our programs reach children’s parents, caregivers, and community members. Together we help save children’s lives, protect them from exploitation and provide them with hope for the future. You can support a whole year of schooling for as little as $30/m or $360 a year.
